DAVID'S DIARY
David's Poems

The poem entitled "David" was lovingly written about David by a very special lady who always gives so much love to others. Thank you, Jane.
**UPDATE**Beautiful Jane joined David in Heaven.  I pray they have meet and Jane is holding David in her arms telling him how much his mommy loves and misses him.

DAVID

A small light for a little while.

God's small light in time and place.

A small pure light from heaven above.

A small light to tell of God's love.

His time by earths' measure seemed small indeed.

In God's sight it was truly complete.

His small love light spoke to family and friends,

To strangers, a church, and to many near and far.

His small light now beams more brightly,

For he's with Christ Jesus, the Light of the world.

His precious memories forever will continue to spread.

This small angel of light's message of true love.

Welcome Home

When I am gone, release me, let me go

I have so many things I need to see and do.

You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears,

Be thankful for our beautiful time.

I gave to you my love, and you can only guess

how much you gave to me in happiness.

I thank you for the love you have shown,

But now it's time I traveled on alone.

So grieve awhile for me, if grieve you must,

then let your grief be comforted by trust.

It's only for a time we must part,

So bless the memories within your heart.

I won't be far away, for life goes on,

So if you need me, call, and I will come.

Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near,

and if you listen with your heart,

you'll hear my love all around you soft and clear.

And then when you must come this way alone,

I'll greet you with a smile, and say,

"Welcome Home!"

Safely Home

I am home in Heaven, dear ones;

Oh, so happy and so bright!

There is perfect joy and beauty

In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over,

Every restless tossing passed;

I am now at peace forever,

Safely home in Heaven at last.

Did you wonder I so calmly

Trod the valley of the shade?

Oh! But Jesus's love illumined

Every dark and fearful glade.

And He came Himself to meet me

In that way so hard to tread;

And with Jesus's arm to lean on,

Could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely,

For I love you dearly still;

Try to look beyond earth's shadows,

Pray to trust our Father's Will.

There is work still waiting for you,

So you must not idly stand;

Do it now, while life remaineth

You shall rest in Jesus's land.

When that work is all completed,

He will gently call you Home;

Oh, the rapture of that meeting,

Oh, the joy to see you come!

Little Angels

When God calls little children

to dwell with Him above,

We mortals sometime question

the wisdom of His love.

For no heartache compares with

the death of one small child

Who does so much to make our world

seem wonderful and mild.

Perhaps God tires of calling

the aged to His fold,

So He picks a rosebud

before it can grow old.

God knows how much we need them,

and so He takes but few

To make the land of Heaven

more beautiful to view.

Believing this is difficult

still somehow we must try,

The saddest word mankind knows

will always be ‘Goodbye."

So when a little child departs,

we who are left behind

Must realize God loves children,

Angels are hard to find.

I'll lend you for a little time, a child of mine, God said.

For you to love the while he lives and mourn for when he's dead.

It may be six or seven weeks, or thirty years or three,

But will you, till I call him back, take real good care of him for me?

He'll bring his charm to gladden you, and should his stay be brief,

You'll have his lovely memories, as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return.

But are lessons taught down there, I want this child to learn.

I looked the world wide over, in my search for teachers true,

And from the throngs who crown life's way, I have selected you.

Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labor vain,

Nor hate me when I call around, to take him back again?

I fancy that I hear you say, "Dear Lord, Thy will be done,

For all the joy the child has wrought, all faithful risks we run.

We sheltered him with tenderness, we loved him while we may.

And for the happiness we've known, we shall forever grateful stay.

But you came around to call for him, much sooner than we'd planned.

Dear Lord, forgive our grief, and help us understand."
